The University of Bordeaux welcomes 54,000 students, of which almost 2,000 are PhD students and 7,200 are international students. It employs around 5,900 staff members, with nearly 4,000 are academic and research staff.
Ranked among the top universities in France, the University of Bordeaux was one of the first universities to obtain confirmation of the “Initiative of Excellence” label, awarded by the French government in recognition of its innovative training, research and knowledge transfer programs.
